This is the first in what I hope to be an ongoing event. If all goes well I am looking at running these every 3 months. The idea is to put small teams of players in a Special Forces role using a first person shooter type structure. The teams are geared more towards the experienced players and teams that operate together on a regular basis. This will put their skills to the test individually and as a cohesive element. You do not have to be on a team in order to participate however. Every special operations team needs a good OpFor to go against.
Here is how this OP is going to work. The Special Forces teams will have at set of primary objectives they will have to complete in the time frame of the game in order to complete their mission. They will have several secondary objectives and objectives of opportunity that will be worth bonus points. They will have to complete their Primary objectives before the end of the mission to be counted as complete. There will be 4 missions and each team will run all 4 throughout the course of the day. Each mission will be different and the teams will have to use a variety of skill sets in order to complete them. A few of the roles that will be taken on by the forces will include Recon, Assassination, Hostage rescue, Intelligence, Demolition, and Infiltration. This might seem easy to some but let me assure you that I have designed this to push the teams to the edge.
Op-For will be taking the role of the bad guys and will have one objective which is to prevent the teams from completing their missions. They will be on patrols, ambushes, stationed at check points and listening posts, guarding hostages or critical locations. etc.. They will be in a way playing a role with the ability to respond freely during encounters with the teams. For example, if an Op-For patrol is assigned to a patrol route then they have to stay within that area while patrolling. If they encounter the SF Team then they are free to engage and give chase. They will also have limited ability to leave their area to investigate sounds and such. Op-For will play a very important role in this OP. Op-For will also be given points for any primary objectives they prevent the teams from completing plus the points for any secondary objectives that are not complete. Op-For points will be cumulative through out the day.
The field will be divided into 4 AOs ( area of operation ) and the missions will run simultaneously for 4 rounds. Teams and Op-For will rotate each round. Character players will play their role throughout the day. All players will have to stay in their AO during the game. Each area will have 1 Combat Controller that will be a non playing admin. The combat controller will manage Op-For and general game flow.
Op-For:
Anyone can be Op-For. Op-For will be assuming the role of the bad guys that the Special Forces have to deal with to complete their missions. Your job is to stop the Special Forces.
Special Forces:
In this one the following Special Forces units will be represented by each team:
Navy SEALs
S.A.S.
CIA Black OPs
Delta Force
All the teams will play through the 4 missions in rotation. and take the role of each Special Forces unit. Each mission will be centered around a specific skill set but not limited to that skill set alone. Teams will be out numbered and operating from start to finish in hostile territory.
SF Teams are caped at 6 members and need to be a recognized team or a group that regularly plays together. SF will be very challenging which is the point of this whole thing and the teams need to have cohesion and experience as a unit. SF teams are not designed for inexperienced players or groups of random players.
The team that wins the challenge will have bragging rights for the next 3 months and be listed in the hall of warriors. They will be able to defend their title at the next challenge. The other 3 teams will not be able to run as a team for the next 2 challenges. This insures that other players in the area have an opportunity to train and run as a SF team in future challenges.
Each team will have to have the following items in order to play as SF:
1. Digital camera - This can be a camera phone or other device capable of capturing an image. There will be objectives that require you to take a picture of someone or something and I will have to be able to confirm that the picture was taken and that it is correct.
2. GMRS radio - You will have to be in touch with operations command during your mission. There will be intel that will be given to you at certain points and if command is not in contact with you will not be able to complete your mission or gain extra points.
3. Lighter - Teams will have to light of demo charges or smoke that will require a lighter.
I will provide all other mission specific equipment.
Each team will be given an intel pack for each mission that will have maps, photos, mission details, etc.. There will however be intel that teams will get in mission. Teams will be given ample time for planning before the OP.
Medic Rules:
Medic rules will be different for both factions.
Op-For - When an Op-For player is hit he will call hit, pull out his dead rag and report to the Combat Controller for that AO. The Combat Controller will then reassign the player on the field.
SF teams - The SF teams will all be able to medic each other back into action. Each SF member can take 3 hits before being eliminated from the game. Each SF player will have 3 ropes with 5 knots tied in it. When hit any other member of his team can take one rope, untie the 5 knots and then tie the rope around the hit player’s wrist. This is done for each hit until a player has 3 ropes tied around his wrist. If the player is hit again after all his ropes are tied around his wrist he is dead and eliminated from the field for the remainder of that game.

Storyline:
2010 was the year the former US government lost its hold on America. Economic and political struggles that had waged on for years finally proved to be too much. Wide spread internal disorder opened the door for the corporate giants of America to seize control and establish themselves as the political power. Things were good at first and the people of America had a shimmer of hope. It seemed the AmeriCorp was the answer to America’s problems. There were those that warned against the new AmeriCorp and their intentions but their warning fell on def ears. With time these groups quietly gathered force in the state of Texas and built a sizable army calling themselves the PLA ( Peoples Liberation Army ). Eventually the state of Texas officially proclaimed its withdrawal from the union and stood on its own in defiance of the new AmeriCorp. There were sporadic engagements along the Texas border but eventually AmeriCorp moved on with a more sinister agenda. You see, the rebels that had moved to Texas and proclaimed their independence from the union had sensed the darker side of AmeriCorp. Yes, the same people that had tried to warn the American people about AmeriCorps true agenda. What the American people did not know was the AmeriCorp had no interest in America or its future. AmeriCorp was a conglomeration of foreign corporations and American corporations that had shifted their assets to places like Dubai. AmeriCorp saw the American people as a step above slave labor. Once they had gained control of the government they were free to use this resource as they saw fit.
By the year 2012 America was showing signs of decay and the people were starting to see the truth behind AmeriCorp. Food, water, electricity, gas, propane were all rationed to the people from distribution centers around America. Independent business and commerce were outlawed and the people were forced to rely on AmeriCorp for everything. In a step to prevent any uprising the people were stripped of their right to bare arms and protest of any kind were treated as an act of treason punishable by death.
As time went on things got worse and rations dwindles to nearly nothing. By the end of 2015 60% of the population had died and you could not tell America apart from most 20th century third world countries. Daily life was a struggle and while most simple trudged through day to day others resorted to savaging what they could find or take from others. Some communities formed underground militias to protect themselves from scavengers and from time to time conduct raids on Americorp caravans and distribution centers.
Texas remained quiet for many years until 2016 when it began a campaign to liberate America from AmeriCorp. In the fist few years of the conflict the PLA gained little ground but as time went on and their forced were bolstered buy desperate Americans they started to gain momentum. By 2018 the PLA was firmly imbedded in the southern states and the Midwest as far north as Colorado. They established an underground market to supply the people with essential goods and weapons. The militias did not trust the PLA 100% however they shared a common enemy and loosely worked together from time to time. The PLA was cautious of the militias as feared they might have AmeriCorp spies and informants in their numbers and this was indeed a tactic used by AmeriCorp to gain intelligence on the PLA and militias.
The year is now 2023 and America has reached a state of complete degradation. Scavengers run rampant and the conflict between the PLA and AmeriCorp rages on. The US population is at 30% what it was in 2010 and AmeriCrop has resorted to supplementing the workforce from Mexico and South America. The PLA has planned its largest offensive against AmeriCorp since the conflict began 7 years ago. The idea is to strike the heart of AmeriCorp and stifle its operation in America. This could provide the opportunity needed to reclaim governing power and push AmeriCorp out for good. It will be a hard fight but it’s the last chance the American people have to reclaim and rebuild a free United States.
AmeriCorp security force:
These guys are the big dogs on the block. Backed by the corporate government they are better armed and trained than the other factions. These guys are completely loyal to the corporation and are 100% willing to die to follow out their orders. It is rumored that they are clones produced at a facility in White Sands New Mexico. These guys are tough and focused on following their orders. They don’t give up so the only way to stop them is to kill them.
PLA:
This is the Peoples Liberation Army and was formed out of the militias that liberated Texas and broke off from the union. Over time they recruited those American citizens that became fed up with AmeriCorp and saw them for what the really were. The PLA has grown considerably since its conception and now stands against AmeriCorp. Their ultimate goal is to push AmeriCorp out and rebuild a free America. They do on occasion work with local militias in coordinated attacks and recon missions against AmeriCorp but this is done with great care and caution due to fear of AmeriCorp spies in militia ranks.
Militias:
These groups are made up of local people and soldiers of the former US military. They were formed to protect small communities from scavangers and other dangers lurking in the waste once known is free America. They will on occasion conduct raids against lightly armed transports and distribution centers. AmeriCorp has instituted laws against such organizations and the militias keep themselves hidden. They have established an underground black market and despite their lack of trust in the PLA have set up trade with Texas.
Scavengers:
The name says it all. Scavengers are out for themselves and will take whatever they can from anyone they encounter, even other scavenger bands. Many call the Pirates of the Waste and they are both feared and hated by all. Militias do what they can to keep their villages safe from scavengers and the PLA has been known to conduct operations against large scavenger bands. They are involved with the Mexican slave trade and have no scruples about capturing men, women, and children for trade with the Mexican slavers. AmeriCorp does little about the scavenger problem as they pose little threat to AmeriCorp but the scavengers keep the militias busy which keeps the raids down to a minimum. It is rumored that AmeriCorp will use scavengers to get rid of problems while keeping their hand clean.
